Thinkronize Earns Fourth Codie Award
in Four Years
Latest win for netTrekker d.i. honors
market-leading educational search engine for providing safe and
productive Internet searching
Cincinnati, OH - Less than a year after its introduction,
netTrekker d.i., the safe Internet search engine specifically
designed to support differentiated instruction, has been recognized by
the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) as one of
the best educational products available.
Thinkronize, Inc., the developer of the netTrekker suite
of safe educational search products, earned its fourth Codie award
in four years for netTrekker d.i. during the 21st annual
SIIA awards presentation. The award was given in the educational
product category of "Best Instructional Solution: Classroom Management,"
which honors the best instructional management system designed
for preK-12 or postsecondary educators.
netTrekker d.i. was also a finalist in the "Best
Instructional Solution: English Language Acquisition" and "Best
Instructional Solution: Web-based or Online" categories.
netTrekker d.i is quickly becoming a "must-have" resource in many
school districts nationwide. Since the product's launch in Fall 2005, nearly
7 million students in 11,000 schools across the country are currently using
the search engine. The Pennsylvania Department of Education has partnered with
Thinkronize to provide access to netTrekker d.i. for every student
and educator across the state. Michigan Virtual University, in conjunction
with the Michigan Department of Education, has also teamed with Thinkronize
to provide netTrekker d.i. access to educators statewide.
netTrekker d.i. provides teachers and students with fast
and easy access to more than 180,000 educator-selected, standards-based
online resources. The search engine goes a step further by assigning
each prescreened resource a readability measure based on
Lexile® ratings and eight other popular methods. In
addition, an entire section of netTrekker d.i. resources is
filled with customized ELL content to help teach English as a second
language, addressing a growing need in K-12 education today.
This latest honor marks the fourth time in four years that
Thinkronize has been recognized by SIIA. Just last year, the
netTrekker classic search engine earned dual honors in the
20th annual Codie awards program.
"With the exponential amount of growth and innovation in the
educational software industry, it is a tremendous accomplishment for
Thinkronize to be continually recognized by our peers for helping
children learn through the valuable resources provided by the
netTrekker product suite," said Christine Willig, president
of Thinkronize.
Established in 1986, the Codie Awards remain the standard-bearer
for celebrating outstanding achievement and vision in the software,
digital content and education technology industries. Through a unique
combination of journalist and peer review, the Codie Awards recognize
71 categories of outstanding products and services, as well as
corporate excellence and philanthropy.
This year's 348 finalists represent a wide and impressive array of
technology and business excellence, passion and success. The winners
were chosen from more than 1,026 nominations submitted by more than
500 companies - breaking the nominations record set in the 2005 awards.
The 2006 Codie Awards were presented at a gala event on May 16 at the
Westin St. Francis Hotel, San Francisco, Calif.
