Thinkronize Hits 11 Millionth Student Milestone!

Safe, Pornography-Free, and Relevant Searching Increases by 84% on Nation’s #1 Educational Search Engine netTrekker d.i. from School Year 06 to School Year 07

Cincinnati, OH, February 6, 2008 – Thinkronize <http://www.thinkronize.com/>, a leader in the digital delivery of K-12 educational content, today announced that eleven million students are now searching safely online with netTrekker d.i., its #1 in-school safe search engine.  netTrekker d.i. is now used by over 600,000 teachers and 20,000 schools throughout the U.S., an 84% increase in safe searches from school year 2006 to school year 2007 and an increase of one million students and two thousand schools since Fall 2007.
Schools are aggressively seeking ways to provide standards-based digital resources in all subject areas to their teachers and students.  In many cases, states and districts are shifting available funding from print to digital media. Thinkronize’s remarkable growth rate is a result of netTrekker d.i.’s easy-to-use interface and its ability to deliver relevant, safe, teacher-approved digital resources quickly.

Although schools are increasingly investing in keeping students web-safe, only one in five (20%) of our nation’s students in our 115,512 public and non-public schools has access to netTrekker d.i.’s digital content.  “The opportunity for our continued growth is strong,” said Thinkronize CEO Randy Wilhelm. “We are proud to deliver a solution that is helping educators make significant headway in turning things around so that every child can benefit from online content.”

“Our students require the finest Internet search technology, and with over 18,000 students in our district, we are dedicated to providing them all with access to safe, relevant digital content,” said John Laws, executive director of technology at Cincinnati’s Lakota Local Schools, the largest suburban school district in Ohio.  “Using regular search engines means sifting through thousands of non-educational and sometimes inappropriate websites. netTrekker d.i. allows our students and teachers to find digital content easily and quickly.”
According to Eliot Levinson, founder and CEO, BLE Group, “Since 1998 I have been involved in helping schools and states implement technology for better results.  I’ve watched Thinkronize since their 1999 launch and have been impressed by their vision for technology use in education, undeniable growth story, focus on safety, and ability to develop cutting-edge products to meet the unique needs of educators and students around the globe.”

In a recent study, Schools and Generation ‘Net (http://ntdi.nettrekker.com/?page=study_2007), commissioned by Thinkronize, it was revealed that, although virtually all the 954 educators who responded reported that their schools or districts were taking actions to protect students using filters and training, only about one-third had purchased and installed special search engines. With netTrekker d.i.’s significant growth rate, that number appears to be on the rise.
