"Games" Rule with New Ranking Revealing Most Popular Keywords that K-12 Students Are Searching for on the Internet

netTrekker d.i.'s Quarterly "Top 15 In-School Search Index" Provides First-Ever Real-Time Ranking of Terms Our Kids Are Searching for Most

Cincinnati, OH, May 14, 2008 – Every day, across the nation, our digitally native students are punching search terms into their school's Internet browsers.   But which keywords are they searching for most?  Starting today, a top 15 list of the most active search terms will be available on Thinkronize, Inc's netTrekker site (http://ntdi.nettrekker.com/?page=top15search).  This first-ever quarterly index will offer new insight into what our nation's students are learning about, care about and want to know more about.

For this spring quarter (February – April 2008), "games" reigned supreme, with "dogs" at #2 and "animals" at #3—showcasing that kids will be kids, whether at school or at home.  "Civil War" came in at #4 and "George Washington" at #5.  The total number of unique search terms for the spring quarter was 1,844,677.

"Search engines like Google™ and Yahoo® pull together lists of the most popular keyword queries, underscoring our nation's interests and fixations and showcasing trends and patterns," said Thinkronize CEO Randy Wilhelm.  "Our report offers a different view—a real-time school-based mirror of what our children are searching for—both for academic purposes and out of genuine curiosity."

The "Top 15 In-School Search Index" is tracked by Thinkronize, a leader in the digital delivery of K-12 educational content and developers of netTrekker d.i., the #1 safe educational search engine. netTrekker d.i. is now used by over 11 million students, 600,000 teachers, and 20,000 schools in all 50 states in the United States.
